Akufo-Addo Is NPPs Man For 2016 Nitiwul

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Bimbilla is predicting a landslide victory for the 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the partys presidential primaries on October 18, 2014. Dominic Nitiwul said Akufo-Addo, whom he described as the number one contender in the flagbearership race, as the "people's choice". Dominic Nitiwuls endorsement comes after the leadership of the NPP barred MPs from publicly supporting candidates vying for the flagbearer position. General Secretary of the party, Kwabena Agyapong who issued the fiat said though individual MPs have the right to support their preferred candidate, declaring support is a breach of the partys constitution. But on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme on Tuesday, Dominic Nitiwul stated unequivocally that there is nothing in the NPPs Constitution that bans individual MPs from declaring their support for their ideal candidate. According to him, it is my civic responsibility as an individual to ensure Akufo-Addo becomes flagbeaer. Dominic Nitiwul who is also deputy Majority Leader said lets not play the ostrich and bury our heads in the sand when in fact the obvious is staring us right in the face. I will be the worst leader if I go against the wishes of my constituents and the grassroot supporters of our party, he stressed. The Bimbilla MP was quick to add that the enormous support for Akufo-Addo is not because the people hate the other candidates, but its not their time yet. As it stands now, party members are saying bring Akufo-Addo and that is exactly what we will do, he stated. Dominic Nitiwul indicated that Ghanaians are yearning for the NPP with Nana Akufo-Addo as leader to come back to power, restore hope and offer a purposeful leadership to accelerate the development of Ghana.
