Ministers In Danger Over Poor Security At Regional Residency

CREDIBLE INFORMATION available to the DAILY HERITAGE indicates that the security of the Eastern regional minister, Antwi Bosiako Sekyere and his deputy, Mavis Ama Frimpong are in grave danger following revelations by guards of the regional residency that there is no correct security apparatus at the facility to prevent criminals from causing any harm to the ministers. The security details at the facility are embittered over the lack of basic logistics at the security check points despite the fact that the presidency hosts important dignitaries who visit the region. The security personnel who spoke to the paper under condition of anonymity lamented that there is no communication gargets and CCTV cameras at the facility and therefore everybody here is exposed. They said basic logistics such as chairs, tables, among others are all in tatters at the security check point. According to them, they use their personal mobile phones to communicate and sometimes expose important details on phone instead of using secured lines to relay information to their superiors. The situation is compounded by the fact that telephone lines and landline phones at the check point are currently dead. The personnel showed an old landline phone of Ghana Telecom which had been rendered unusable for the past ten years. Several complaints have been lodged to the authorities concerned; however, no positive response has come. We don't want to be blamed for any security lapses here because apart from the few limited gadgets we have there is absolutely nothing to boost the security set up Several calls made to the Public Relations Department of the Eastern Regional Police Command for reaction went unanswered.
