Avoid Destructive Behaviours Afotey-Agbo Urges Youth

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, has called on the countrys youth to resist the temptation of being drawn into vices that would lead to their destruction. He said many young people adopted certain bad behaviours due to exposure to circumstances that promote those behaviours during their formative years Nii Afotey Agbo made these statements during a church service to climax the Young peoples week celebration of the Rev. Henry Wharton Memorial Methodist Church in Accra. The regional minister indicated that government had laudable plans and programmes geared towards the development of young people in the country. He stressed that the youth could only benefit from these programmes if they were disciplined and focused in their quest to develop themselves. Without a disciplined youth, any youth-centred development programmes implemented by the government would not yield the desired results, said Nii Afotey Agbo. According to Nii Afotey Agbo, sticking to Christian principles is one of the surest ways by which young people can avoid straying into bad behaviour. He therefore advised the youth of the church to take the teachings of Christian doctrines seriously and practise the values religiously to guide all their endeavours. Nii Afotey Agbo made a donation of GHC1,000 to support the activities of the youth in the church.
