Nana Addo Tours Registration Centres

Nana Akufo-Addo yesterday toured various registration centres in the Greater Accra region to acquaint himself with how far things were going. The flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) curtailed his campaign tour of parts of the country in order to partake in the limited registration exercise being undertaken by the Electoral Commission (EC) across the country. He was accompanied during the tour by some important dignitaries in the party such as Stanley Adjiri Blankson, former Mayor of Accra, His Excellency Rashid Bawa, former Ghanas Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and a Minister of State at the Ministry of Education. Others in the team were Henry Quartey, MP for Central Ayawaso constituency and some regional executives of the party such as Archibald Cobbla, among others. The tour took Nana and his entourage to Bortianor, Madina Police Station, Dodowa, Adenta and Nima. The limited registration, which commenced yesterday, ends on 13th August 2014. It was earlier stopped by a Supreme Court following a suit challenging the validity of the use of the National Health Insurance Card as a requirement in the registration of prospective voters. The injunction was removed when eventually the Supreme Court cancelled the use of the card as a requirement. The NPP has enjoined its supporters, who have come of the voting age to avail themselves of the opportunity to register.
