They have misplaced priorities�they use my name to sell their papers and I know because of this headline they will really sell today. They don�t have a story and that is why they used this as their major headline despite all the things happening in the country,� retorted Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Hannah Louisa Bissiw. Today�s (5/8/2014) publication of the Daily Guide newspaper, had as its banner headline: �MONEY SWINE�Toyota Landcruiser For Hannah Bissiw B�day� According to the publication: �Hannah Bissiw�s actual birthday fell on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 but the celebration was deferred till Saturday, August 2, 2014. Invitations were sent to colleague ministers and their deputies and party faithful, but many could not turn up on the day of the celebration for unknown reasons. Insiders said the timing for such a lavish party was wrong, especially since the country is on its knees, with the economy in shambles. The colourful party took place at the premises of the Tema Development Corporation (TDC) in the heart of the habour city, on the evening of last Saturday�The highest point of the celebration was the presentation of a brand new (tear-rubber) 4x4 Toyota Land cruiser Prado 2014 model, estimated to cost $120,000, by her husband Dr Francis Kpormego, a medical doctor based in Jamaica with Good Shepherded Medical complex. But speaking in an interview on Peace FM�s morning show �Kokrokoo�, Hon. Bissiw did not see how this is any business of the Daily Guide newspaper. �This should not be the main headline on the front page but I have realised that the Daily Guide newspaper likes using my name and image to make money. I know because of this headline on their paper, it will really sell today. They don�t have a story and that is why they used this as their major headline�I won�t use my money to buy daily guide newspaper because it is not a proper investment,� she said curtly. According to her, �last year, courtesy of Daily Guide�s publication, the whole world got to know that I was pregnant; as if it was wrong for me; a married woman to get pregnant. People started raining insults and curses on me but I took those issues to God. But I am an apple of God�s eye and I don�t play with my relationship with God. I gave birth on my birthday by God�s grace despite all that they said. I see such things as demonic and so when I hear things like that, I take it to God. I can sit down up to 5am and pray to my God. Narrating what led to the presentation of the new Landcruiser, Hon. Bissiw said it was just a surprise from her husband, who was not able to make it on her birthday which fell on 23rd July. �My husband is not even in Ghana; he is a renowned medical doctor and so he decided to fly down to surprise me. My husband is worth more than that�he can even give me a car or a house if he so desires�If they think I bought the car, they should prove it. I dare anyone to prove it�.
