EPA Urged To Publish Report On Whale Deaths

The Friends of the Nation (FoN), a socio-environmental Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) on Friday called on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to publish its findings and implement solutions to forestall death of whales during this migration season which has started. The FoN called on the EPA to release the report of the committee it set up to investigate the death of a number of whales along the country's coastline particularly in the Western Region during the previous migration period of whales which started in August last year. The call was contained in a press release signed by Ms Elisabeth Wagner, Communication Officer and Environmental Advisor to the FoN. The release said the committee was expected to report back to the EPA at the end of February this year, but no findings or recommendations have been published yet. The FoN urged the EPA to make the report public and implement the recommendations to ensure the safety of whales in the country.
