Tomato Prices Up, Yam Down In Tamale � Survey

Prices of tomatoes (Paint container) have increased in price but the price of yam has dropped in the Tamale Metropolis this week as against last week. A painter container of tomatoes, which was sold last week at GH�5.00 is now being sold for GH�11.00 and three tubers of small size yam has reduced from GH�10.00 to GH�5.00. Some of the market women explained to the GNA Business that the reduction in prices of the yam had been as a result of the harvesting period and predicted a further reduction in prices. A GNA market survey conducted in the two main Aboabo and the Tamale Central markets showed that prices of other commodities such as beans, local and foreign rice remained stable.
