Lead Crusade Against Corruption Rev. Gbordzoe

A former Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, Very Rev. Dr Emmanuel K. Gbordzoe, has called on Christians to lead the crusade against corruption in Ghana. According to him, corruption retards progress and denies the nation the needed resources for development. Corruption is part of immorality. The reason people steal is because they want to service their immoral lives. If we can begin to lead good lives, we dont need to steal money to live beyond our means, the former Moderator told the Daily Graphic on the fringes of an ordination ceremony at the Trinity Parish at Kotobabi in Accra. In all, 25 pastors were ordained for the work of the vineyard after a two-year probation. On the prevailing economic conditions, Very Rev. Dr Gbordzoe urged the country to remain steadfast. The country would emerge stronger economically and any other way. We only have to pray and trust the Lord. This country is blessed. If we are only speaking about the negative things, it means we dont believe in God. But if we can speak the positive into the situation, things would change, he said. The sermon Earlier, preaching a sermon entitled, When God Speaks, he said it was regrettable poverty had sealed the mouths of some ministers of the gospel. According to him, some pastors today neither want to speak the truth nor preach the salvation gospel because they want to worship the rich, so that they can get money. He said such pastors threw the word of God away for their own personal gains. He, therefore, advised the newly ordained pastors to be wary, saying, If you do that youll die on the way. You may not die physically but spiritually and God will not be with your sermon anymore. Whenever you sin, you isolate yourselves from the Lord Jesus Christ and easily come under the attack of the enemy, he said. He advised them to be determined to allow the word of God to rule their hearts and unite them with Jesus Christ to secure their place in the Kingdom of God. The Moderator of the church, Rt Rev. Dr Edem Tettey, while congratulating the newly ordained pastors, urged their congregations to accord them the needed respect. Among the personalities present at the ceremony were the moderator of the church, the Synod Clerk, Rev. Prince Tefe, and a former Synod Clerk of the church, Rev. Shine Ofori.
