One of the nation�s popular boxers, Braimah Kamoko, aka Bukom Banku, and some unknown young men last Thursday turned an automobile mechanics workshop into a boxing ring and pummeled a mechanic. The infuriated boxer reportedly charged unto the workshop at Palladium, James Town, and attacked the mechanic on Thursday, August 14, 2014, following a is understanding over a Hyundai saloon car that had been sent to the shop by one Mr. Teddy Moore on behalf of Bukum Banku for repairs. Bukom Banku, who confirmed to The General Telegraph that he beat up the mechanic, asserted that his victims conduct warranted blows. He went bonkers and spewed insults. �Yes, I beat him up because he offended me. What is wrong with you journalist at all. Has he told you why I beat him? I beat him, and so what? The controversial boxer then out off the call. A few seconds later he sent a text message which read, �Foolish man don�t call me again: Kwashia man. Several other calls were placed back to Banku, but it is believed that one of his sons or daughters answered and said their father was not available. Meanwhile, narrating the entire incident to The General Telegraph, Bukom Kanku�s victim Benjamin Denyo, a 27-year-old mechanic operating at Palladium at James Town, said in May this year, one Mr. Teddy Moore brought him a second hand Hyundai Soncon saloon car for repairs. According to Denyo, upon examining the car, he told Mr. Moore that he engine needed servicing together with electrical works. But Moore told Denyo that, for his part, he could only work on the engine so the wrong would be sent to a specialist electrician to work on, claimed Denyo. Victim Denyo explained that they agreed and he received GH�200 from Mr. Moore to buy the spare parts needed for the repair of the engine and asked the better to top up if it turned out that the money he gave him was not enough. Denyo said he then charged GH�300 as workmanship but they mutually agreed that Moore would pay GH�200 after the service. Denyo added that he used an extra GH�150 from his own resources to purchases spare parts to fi x the engine, as agreed upon. Denyo said that after fixing the car, Moore refused to pay the workmanship of GH�200, as well as the extra GH�150 he used in procuring the spare parts. He told The General Telegraph that after some days, Bukom Kanku came to his shop and packed up his car personally and after checking he asked of the car�s dash box. Denyo told him that he would only give it out when Moore had paid him fully for the service he had rendered him. Banku then drove the car away, but the car later developed a fault resulting in Bukom seeking his service once more. He continued that about two months later, on 14 August 2014, Bokum Banku charged into his shop with five young men who beat and slapped him mercilessly. They also used a spanner they had found on him to hit his stomach many times. Denyo has since reported the case to the James Town police station. He was given a police report to attend hospital. Denyo added that the police advised him to stay away from Banku and his troubles. The former said he did not need the money anymore but what hurt him most was what Banku did to him. �My mum has asked me to forget whatever happened and leave it to God to judge. But what I want to ask is that must he, Bokum Banku, go around beating up and slapping people just because he knows his men as it is believed? According to Denyo Banku said nobody could do anything to him.
