I Doubt Agyepong Wrote Okudzeto's Leave Letter - Karbo

A former Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Anthony Karbo, has said he doubts if the letter given to the partys Communications Director instructing him to proceed on leave was written by the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong. Although the letter to Perry Okudzeto had the signature of Agyepong, Karbo said the timing lacks the depth and maturity of a senior party member. The August 13 letter directed Okudzeto, who has been working as the acting communications director since 2009, to proceed on a two-year accumulated leave. The move has sparked a huge furore within the biggest opposition party in Ghana, with some leading members calling for a reversal of the decision. Karbo, who resigned his position in 2012, said the new leaders of the party have resorted to an unpopular decision which is likely to affect the chances of the Danquah-Busia party in the 2016 elections. I know Kwabena very well, he is a meticulous person and I doubt he wrote that letter. It lacks the depth associated with the Kwabena that I know and worked with, Karbo observed. Well, even if someone must be sacked, it must be done right. We never sacked anybody when we came into office and Perry was taken to school by the party for this job, he could have done something better with his skills for money but he chose to work for us. He must not be treated this way, the failed MP aspirant lamented on Accra-based OKAY FM.
