President John Dramani Mahama, on Sunday, led a Government delegation to the funeral of Issah Seidu, the former Yendi Municipal Education Director, at Tamale. Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Alhaji Limuna Mohammed-Muniru, Northern Regional Minister, Dr Sulley Gariba, Senior Policy Coordinator at the Office of the President, and other high ranking state officials, accompanied the President. The funeral was also attended by Educations Directors, headmasters and other members of the education fraternity, as well as many mourners across the nation. President Mahama, in his tribute, described the late Issah, who was his junior at the Ghana Secondary School (Ghanasco), Tamale, as �a friend and a brother, who even became part of the Mahama family.� He said Issah, popularly called �Turn up� was a selfless man, who belonged more to his friends than to his own family. It was unfortunate that such a good person had died in the prime of his life, the President said. However, the President said: �We know that death will come, when it will come, all we can do now is to pray for him to be accepted by God, his Maker.� Issah Seidu died at 54, at the 37th Military Hospital, on July 16. He was born on 22nd August 1959, at Tamale. He obtained both his First and Master�s Degrees at the University Of Cape Coast. He taught at Ghanasco, and later, the Tamale Secondary School, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Headmaster, before he was transferred to head the Tolon Senior High School. Issah Seidu later became the Director of Education and headed the Kpandai District. Until his death, he was the Yendi Municipal Education Director. He was survived by Mariama, his wife, and two sons, Jalid and Adams.
