Asa Bee Rides On Bone-Shaker & Okada

NPP Presidential candidate hopeful, Stephen Asamoah Boateng (aka Asa B), may not be in any serious contention to win the flagbearership contest, he certainly has, in a single day, done an awesome lot to aid the NPP in its quest to rid itself of the rightly earned tag as an elitist party. As one of the seven candidates vying for the leadership of the NPP, Asa Bee set off from Accra last week to the northern regions with his campaign message to convince the delegates to elect him as the best alternative to the fructuous Akufo-Addo/Alan Kyeretmaten contest, which is tearing the party apart. His SUV broke down up north while still on campaign trail - although he could have called for a hired vehicle, he chose to board a rickety commercial vehicle. He may not have set out to help the NPP rid its tag as an elitist party, but the fact that he chose to use the everyday means of transportation of the people has really endeared him personally to the local folks. The partys twice defeated presidential candidate, Akufo-Addo, exposed his hypocrisy on the evening of Monday August 3, 2008, when he jumped onto one of the commercial mini-buses popularly known as trotro plying the Kaneshie-Circle route in Accra. Akufo-Addo joined the trotro from Kaneshie First Light to the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and then continued to the Police Headquarters area as he engaged other passengers aboard the vehicle, purporting to be soliciting for first-hand information on the concerns of the ordinary Ghanaians. Also on board the vehicle with Akufo-Addo in 2008 were Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku and other members of his campaign team.
