The Assembly woman for Buokrom Estate electoral area, Magarrete Bawuah has rubbished allegation rumored by her detractors and an aspiring member, Osei Tutu that she is the key reason for the underdevelopment of her place of jurisdiction.
This she has described as a grand machination that seeks to derail her hard earned track record of development since she assumed office for the past three years.
Accusation to the effect that she has for long been resisting the Member of Parliament of the area, Collins Owusu Amankwah from facilitating the construction of road networks linking several communities within her electoral area, a brain child of the aspirant Mr. Tutu, she noted lacks merit and underlined it as a poisonous means opted by the contender in question to pollute the minds of the residents.
She said she has not at any single material moment refused to give in to development projects introduced by the Member of Parliament for her area, particularly, road construction and will never dare such an ungrateful undertaking, challenging her contender to as a matter of urgency refrain from such a diabolic scheme of campaign if he thinks that is the only way to assume power.
Speaking in an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE, She noted that development has always been her hallmark and for that reason she can�t in anyway stand in opposition to it as far as her electoral area is concerned.
Sharing her lamentation over the poor road network at Buokrom Estate B line, she indicated the a road which was awarded on contract last year September 2013 has long been abandoned by the contractor, all owing to the non-payment of contract wages by government.
The half-way constructed road abandoned over half a year ago has now been left at the mercy of erosion, making vehicular movement difficult during heavy downpour.
She has, therefore, called on government to offer immediate assistance in addressing the situation, underlining another area of concern as the low level of security in the area which has given room to several crime incidents in the area.
The collapse of watch dog committees following the non-payment of their allowances and the absence of street lights in most parts of the electoral area she disclosed are causes of the foregoing, promising to do everything within the capacity of her office to address them.
