Muntari In TownTo Support Black Stars

Information reaching DAILY GUIDE SPORTS indicates that Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari will be at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to support the Black Stars when they host Uganda on Saturday. The AC Milan player was suspended indefinitely from the Black Stars for bad behaviour during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Though Muntari is not eligible to play on Saturday, reports making the rounds indicate he would be at the stadium to give moral support to his colleagues. According to Ghanasoccernet. com, Muntari arrived in Accra from his Italy base on Wednesday purposely to support the Black Stars in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. Other reports however said he arrived in the country from Italy on Tuesday evening. Muntari was suspended indefinitely for physically assaulting Black Stars management committee member Moses Armah during a meeting with the players over their delayed appearance fees during the World Cup in Brazil. Despite his suspension, Muntari said there are many ways he can also support the Black Stars to help boost their confidence to ensure success in the match against the Ugandans. If I am not playing it does not mean I cant do my part to support the players to give us victory. Victory will not only be for the players but for us all as a nation so why should I not get involved even if I am suspended. Even though I am serving a ban I still think there are many ways I can contribute to help this team and one of it is to be present to throw my support behind them. Meanwhile, scores of soccer fans in Kumasi are demanding that Muntari be recalled to the Black Stars. These soccer fans besieged the Black Stars training ground at the Baba Yara stadium on Tuesday, chanting Muntaris name. They argued that beside his show of patriotism over the years, Muntari is currently in tiptop shape, urging the technical team to recall him to the Black Stars.
