The beleaguered Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency, Nii Armah Ashie Moore, on Monday had the shock of his life when he was chased out by some branch Executives of the National Democratic Congress in Amrahia, a suburb of the Greater Accra Region.
The Adentan MP had gone to Amrahia with his �Team Sheet� tucked under his armpit to solicit vote for aspiring candidates who are supposed to be in his camp but his enterprise was met with resistance as his audience chased him out amidst boos and jeers.
Narrating the incident to The New Crusading Guide yesterday, an eye witness said one Daniel Ako, who is the Chairman of the Amrahia Branch got infuriated when a team, led by an Assembly Member Tony Blair stormed his resident and wanted to introduce some people as aspirants in the upcoming elections in the constituency. Some branch executives of Amrahia had assembled at the residence of Mr. Ako to meet their MP to ostensibly discuss development issues but they were surprised to hear the MP and Tony Blair zoom in to election matters.
Mr. Ako could be heard shouting �Honourable leave my house, leave my house with you people�. Although some members of the MP�s entourage begged for calm to prevail so that the MP could be heard out, the Chairman remained resolute and sacked them from his residence.
What infuriated the executives more was the use of party pick up vehicles by the MP and his team to campaign for their favorite candidates.
Those candidates allegedly on the �team sheet� of Mr. Ashie Moore were Tony Blair as Propaganda Secretary, Eric Lomo as Treasurer, Nana Yaa Korkor as Deputy Treasurer. The rest are Georgina Anim as Deputy Womens Organiser, Raphael Loko as Youth Organise and Fauster Kudavor as the Organizer.
It is believer that the fear of becoming a one term Member of Parliament has gripped Ashie Moore hence his decision to openly thrown his weight behind such candidates so that he can consolidate his grip on the party.
