Cry Of Intimidation An Insult To Delegates, Says NPP Vice Chairman

The Upper West Regional 1st Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Hafiz Bin Salih, says the excuse of intimidation and victimization of delegates from the North being attributed for the abysmal showing of the Alan Kyerematen in the Special Electoral College is an insult to those delegates of the New Patriotic Party. At the commencement of the second phase of the campaign tour of Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the October 18 presidential primary of the party, Hafiz Bin Salih is urging delegates from the three northern regions of the NPP to let them know that what they have said to us is a great insult which we will not forget come October. According to him, delegates of the NPP are discerning and proven in years past that they cannot be intimidated and must prove once again, on October 18, that they are united behind one candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Spokesperson for Nana Akufo-Addo, Mustapha Hamid, at the event, in quoting from Quran 14:7 which states If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe, explained that the purpose of the thank you tour being embarked by Nana Akufo-Addo is to show his gratitude to all 780 delegates in the country for the overwhelming 80.81% endorsement given to Nana Akufo-Addo. You in the Upper West region have done us a great favour by voting 100% for Akufo-Addo and we have come to show our gratitude. What you did was for the good of Ghana, the good of the NPP and the good of Nana Addo. We came to show gratitude so you repeat this feat for Akufo-Addo again on October 18th, Mustapha Hamid said. He continued, Nana Addo is ready for 18th October. There is no one who has shown better commitment to the NPP than Nana. He is still in the party because of the collective good of the nation and the party. The NPP needs people who will stand by the party at all times. On the vile insults being rained on Nana Akufo-Addo, Mustapha Hamid stressed that the onus for maintaining the unity and peace of the NPP rests with Nana Akufo-Addo, citing the biblical judgement passed by King Solomon when two women laid claim to the parentage of a baby. We are not returning fire for fire because we need a healthy, united house for 2016. Those insulting Nana Akufo-Addo, and trying to create a semblance of division in the party do not want us to succeed in 2016, he maintained On the claim by some persons that their candidates are the ones who appeal to floating voters, Mustapha Hamid noted that the NPP has a database of 2 million registered NPP members in Ghana and yet still Nana Akufo-Addo in the December 2012 elections polled some 5.2 million votes. So which kind of voters account for the extra 3.2 million extra votes? We now have a situation where the NDC is telling us who to present as our presidential candidate and who should or who should not drop from the race. That tells you the NDCs preferred candidate is one they know they can beat. Dont grant them that wish, Mustapha Hamid said. He appealed to the delegates gathered, who consisted of regional executives and constituency chairmen, to remain steadfast and resolute as you have shown who you want, and by inference we are convinced that the polling station executives, who told you to vote for Nana on August 31, will vote for Nana on October 18. October 18, according to Mustapha Hamid, represents another perfect opportunity for the over 140,000 delegates to show that the NPP is united behind one person. Let Ghanaians know this.
