MP Organizes Kpoikpoi Party For Constituents

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Klottey Kloley Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Nii Armah Ashietey, on Saturday September 6, 2014 organized a Kpokpoi party, the traditional feast of the chiefs and people of the Gamashie traditional area to climax this year�s Howomo festival at his residence in Accra. Speaking at a colourful ceremony at his residence, Nii Armah Ashietey, appealed to the members of the Constituency to stay united and solidly behind the President, John Dramani Mahama, in the face of the economic crisis the country is experiencing. Notable among the guests, were the MP for Ablekuma South Constituency, Fritz Baffuour, former Municipal Executive Officer (MCE) of ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA), Daniel Amartey Mensah, who is vying for the Greater Accra NDC chairman position, former MP for odododiodoo Constituency, Jonathan Tackie Kommey, also aspiring for the Greater NDC chairman position and the Ghana Trades Union Congress(TUC) Secretary- General, Mr Kofi Asamoah, as well as several party sympathizers and friends. The above named individuals, took turns to address the gathering and entreated them not to be downhearted because of the current economic difficulties, stressing that better days await the people of Ghana, as John Mahama and his team are working hard to address the challenges. Jonathan Tackie Kommey, described as unfortunate the exit of Nii Armah Ashiettey from the Government, since he was the only individual from Gamashie in Cabinet, but was hopeful that in due course, he would be reassigned to champion the cause of the Gas. Guests were treated to good highlife music and traditional drumming and dancing by a cultural troupe from Osu, a suburb in Accra.
