FMC Technologies Celebrates Expansion Of Takoradi Facility

FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced today the commissioning and dedication of its expanded facility in Takoradi, Ghana. Executives from FMC Technologies along with local dignitaries participated in a dedication ceremony at the recently expanded facility located at the Commercial Port in Takoradi. The recent expansion of the facility is designed to support activities related to FMC Technologies� work on Tullow Oil�s TEN Project. The dedication ceremony was attended by Doug Pferdehirt, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FMC Technologies, as well as customers, suppliers and local dignitaries. �FMC Technologies is pleased to be dedicating our newly expanded Takoradi facility,� said Doug Pferdehirt, FMC Technologies� Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. �Ghana is a key global supplier for the oil and gas industry and FMC Technologies' newly expanded facility is designed to enable us to meet the growing demand for subsea equipment and services in the region.� FMC Technologies has been involved in Ghana for over five years and currently employs approximately 71 personnel in Ghana, including 47 Ghanaians. FMC Technologies� previous work in Ghana included the supply of subsea production equipment for the Jubilee field. The additions to the facility in support of the TEN Project include expanded office space, a 25 ton crane, expanded storage capacity and a new generator. In addition to the recent expansions to the Takoradi facility, FMC Technologies has undertaken efforts to expand the capabilities of its Ghanaian workforce. Local engineers, assembly technicians and technical service personnel have been undergoing training both locally and abroad to expand their skills and increase the number of job functions that can be executed in Ghana, by Ghanaians.
