It's Not Fair To Laugh At Afriyie Ankrah and Kojo Adu AsareThey Cried To Show Their Innocence

A communications team member of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has said persons ridiculing former Youth and Sports Minister and the former NDC Adentan MP must desist from such cold-hearted behaviour. He described as unreasonable for the anyone [mainly the opposition NPP] to make witticism out of the former Sports Minister, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Kojo Adu-Asare who served as the Chairman of Protocol and Supporters Welfare Committee during Ghanas muddled 2014 FIFA World in Brazil. Both honourable men wept uncontrollably when they appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry investigating Ghanas shambolic performance at this years World Cup finals in Brazil. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, who was narrating the circumstance leading to the boycott of the two training sessions by the Black Stars, at a point held back his words with tears dropping from his eyes. The former minister become emotional and couldnt continue with his presentation compelling the chairman of the commission to step in and called for five minutes break for the sorrowful minister. The chairman said dont be emotional. Please relax. We are not here to attack you, we are here to unravel the facts and put systems in place". However, on Monday 1 September, 2014, another drama emanated when Kojo Adu-Asare also known as Hon. Swagger wept before the committee. Swagger explained that he was saddened by media reports that his committee pocketed money meant for organizing and airlifting of football fans to Brazil. Sometimes you cant control your tears, he said. However, speaking on Adom FM, the NDC communicator said that, the emotional gesture by Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Kojo Adu Asare showed how innocent they are in the World Cup fiasco brouhaha. He opined that It is not fair to laugh at Elvis and Adu-Asare. Yes they cried to show their innocence. Why should people ridicule them? he questioned.
