Mr Francis Oti Frempong, Central Regional Director of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), has charged workers of the authority to develop positive attitude and can do spirit towards their work. He said these vital working qualities could be used as effective machinery for achieving the NHIAs set goals for the region and the nation in general. Mr Frempong was speaking at a three- day half; yearly review conference, organised by the Regional Directorate of the NHIA in Winneba. The conference, which attracted 45 management officials drawn from the 13 District branches of the NHIA in the region, was on the theme: Overcoming the challenges of the Biometric Registration System (BMS) Implementation and Meeting The Regional Target; Our Collective Responsibility. Mr Frempong announced that out of the targeted 1,083,539 active membership which the region set for the year, 277,560 was achieved at the end of the first quarter of the year. This means that we have a huge target outstanding and need to work very hard to make up the deference before the end of the last quarter of the year. We shall, under my leadership, collectively rewrite the story of the Central Region through dedication, commitment, and hard work, he said. Mr Frempong said It was for this reason that in our collective wisdom adopted the shift system to take advantage of the connectivity challenges and pool mobile kits on weekly basis to support districts biometric registration exercises. He called for continued co-operation and increased higher sense of responsibility from the rank and file of NHIA workers in the region to enable them to chalk out more successes.
