Six people died and one survived when a galamsey pit collapsed on them at Wassa Adonoi, a community near Bawdie in the Amenfi East District of the Western Region. In an interview with Radio Ghana, the Assemblyman for Bawdie, Isaac Anum Oduro, said the bodies of the six have been deposited at the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital. He appealed to government agencies responsible for granting permit to prospective small scale miners to expedite action on documentation processing to avoid galamsey.
