The former Minster of Youth and Sports, Mr. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, who is waiting at the Flagstaff House for ministerial re-assignment, seems to be blaming his failure in handling the World Cup preparations on �big toes he stepped on�, conducting investigation into activities of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).
Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah, who, according to evidence of some persons who had so far appeared before the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Commission snooping the Brazil 2014 World Cup indignity, had had his hands in all disbursements in the world cup, implies that part of his problems towards the Brazil 2014 soccer fiesta, was because of the toes he allegedly stepped on in investigating GYEEDA.
�Look at me dealing with GYEEDA, and I�m told that it�s part of my problems because in GYEEDA, I stepped on toes; ok? I stepped on big toes.
So look at me, consistently, insisting that the right thing be done; now here I am. Circumstances have conspired [against] me to make me look so horrible that even any good thing that I�ve done is almost buried�, the former Minister of Youth and Sports if reported to have said.
It is true that when one is placed in-charge of a project, one is expected to inherit both the assets and liabilities.
In fact, it is against this principle that Ghanaians are yet to recover that a telephone call from the Minister�s brother/personal assistant, could change a �professional chosen to create a world cup website.
Another shock is how figures used for catering services were allegedly inflated to the detriment and displeasure of the said catering service providers, who travel to Brazil to cook.
Also of great surprise and concern to the people of Ghana, is the way and manner the selection of travel agents were done.
With these sterling revelations from the former youth and Sports Minster, Ghanaians will be very glad if he could let out the names of the supposedly toes he is confessing to have stepped on.
