Alan Calls on Delegates To Elect Someone Who Can Unify The Party

Alan Kyerematen, one of the candidates contesting the flagbearership slot of the opposition New Patriotic Party, has called for unity in the NPP. According to him, the party delegates should look out for a personality who can unify the party. Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Alan Kyerematen told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that he does not support violence in the party and Ghana's political environment at large. He recounted that he has over the years practiced a culture where he rebukes his followers openly whenever they misconduct themselves. He added that as a sign of unity, though he has since fallen a victim of character assassination; he however has kept his calm and not reacted in a violent manner. He advised the party folks to take a cue from his character and maintain unity among themselves. He therefore provided a guide for the electorates when electing President for the Republic. �Firstly, let�s look out for somebody who can revive the party and somebody who has an appeal outside the party�Also, somebody who can unite the party and lastly somebody who when we give the job to as President of Ghana, has a track record. �In all the four areas specified, I have the track record. So, we should assess the record of any person who wants to be accepted,� he said.
