The Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako says there is none like former President John Agyekum Kufuor in the New Patriotic Party. Even though there are the likes of Akufo Addo, Alan Kyerematen, Kwabena Agyepong and so on, Kweku Baako believes the former President stands tall among the long list. His comment comes on the back of allegations from Richard Anane, a former Minister of Health that Nii Adjiri Blankson, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and some other members of the NPP in 1998, campaigned for Nana Akufo Addo to replace John Agyekum Kufuor even though the latter had been elected as the presidential candidate of the party. According to Dr Anane, Adjiri Blankson and his colleagues prevailed on the late B.J. da Rocha and then Chairman of the NPP, Samuel Odoi-Sykes, as well as other executives of the party, to drop Mr Kufuor and replace him with Nana Akufo-Addo. Adjiri Blankson who was shocked by the allegation, issued a statement saying: �I find such ugly and noisy aberration from Dr Richard Anane simply as a tired, confused and flaccid father who forcibly wants to put his child to sleep by talking �ananse sem� stories� According to Kweku Baako, there is no need to drag former President Kufuor into debates of this nature because he is an honest and trustworthy man. �I don�t think there is anybody like President Kufuor in the NPP. I trust him; I have solid trust in President Kufuor because I have dealt with him. He doesn�t lie to me. What is the truth, he will tell me even if it is distasteful. I also know the NPP and so it is unfortunate when you hear some of these things going on� he told Kwami Sefa Kayi during a panel discussion on �Kokrokoo� Kweku Baako also stated that it was uncharacteristic for Adjiri Blankson to speak harshly on issues and if he had released a caustic statement, it means he had been pushed to the wall. ��the man hardly speaks. How many times do you hear Adjiri Blankson speak? A key factor in the Alliance For Change (AFC) - Organizers of the Kumepreko Demo) was Adjiri Blankson but the man hardly talks so people think he doesn�t know anything or he doesn�t speak. I learnt he spoke very harshly but that was uncharacteristic of Adjiri Blankson but that is what happens when (untrue) things are said; the ripple effect�� he added.
