Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has rubbished claims that he lost control of the Black Stars dressing room, especially at the 2014 World Cup. Appiah came under fire during his two-year stint with the four-time African champions as most of his tactical decisions got flagged by pundits. Players such as Schalke�s Kevin-Prince Boateng and Adam Kwarasey questioned his approach to games. However, the former Asante Kotoko defender has told private network Metro TV he was on top of his game during his tenure as Ghana boss. �If a coach loses control of the dressing room, it means that the players don't do what the coach tells them to do, but in my case, players who were showing signs of indiscipline or being disrespectful were disciplined,� Appiah, who lost his job last Friday, despite winning his last game against Togo, said. �More so, if you have no control and players are bigger than you, there is no way I could have made Essien (Michael) and Kevin (Prince Boateng) sit on the bench.� The �Silent Killer� added: �Once I made decisions, then I had control over the players. Because they could not do what they want either on the pitch or leave camp and come back when they want.� Player revolt and insubordination marred Ghana�s campaign at the recent World Cup. The Black Stars could not make it out of the group stage for the first time since qualifying for the global stage in 2006.
