Suspended founder-member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Dr Charles Wereko-Brobbey, says he wants the party to extend his 2-year suspension period until it puts its house in order. The former CEO of the Volta River Authority says he does not want to be associated with the NPP in its current disorganised and disunited state. He says until the leadership stops tearing itself apart, he would not feel comfortable associating with the party. Last year, the party�s National Executive Council (NEC) suspended �Tarzan�, as Dr. Wereko Brobbey is popularly known, for two years, after he criticised the party�s decision to challenge the 2012 presidential results in court. Speaking to private FM station, Asempa, Thursday, Dr Wereko-Brobbey said last month�s violence at the party�s headquarters makes it difficult for him to affiliate with his own party. He said the party must know that the business of party politics is to win power as a party, and not to promote the agenda of an individual. �The party is not behaving well�, Wereko-Brobbey said, adding: �We�ll never get anywhere with this attitude�. He warned the NPP not to delude itself into thinking that the current hardships facing Ghanaians under the Mahama administration will guarantee victory for the NPP in the 2016 elections.
