A late former Minister of Youth and Sports, Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, was remembered by the Presidential Commission at yesterday's sitting to commemorate the sixth anniversary of his death. Before yesterday's sitting commenced, Mr Moses Foh-Amoaning, a member of the commission, said the day marked the anniversary of the death of the minister and asked that a minute�s silence be observed in his honour. Mr Baah-Wiredu, who once served as the Minister of Youth and Sports and later as the Finance Minister during the J.A. Kufuor regime, died in 2008 after a short illness. Immediately after the minute�s silence, Mr Kwabena Mensah Woyome, the chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture assumed the sit in the witness area. Just as he had finished administering his oath and given his full name, Mr Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Chairman of the commission, drew the media's attention to a letter the commission had received from Parliament requesting that the sitting was heard in camera. Following that announcement, Justice Dzamefe and his team disappeared into chambers to continue proceedings and later adjourned sitting to today. Coach Appiah, ex-Stars captain to testify today Former Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, and former Black Stars skipper, Stephen Appiah, are expected to take their turn today. As one of the men in the centre of Ghana�s disappointing World Cup campaign in Brazil, Coach Appiah is expected to assist the commission to understand events that took place in camp and how they affected Ghana�s performance. Issues relating to the physical confrontation between Sulley Muntari and Black Stars management committee member, Moses (Mospacka) Armah and an alleged verbal attack on the coach by Kevin-Prince Boateng, which resulted in the dismissal of the two players from the team�s camp in Brazil and their eventual suspension are likely to come up. Former national captain Stephen Appiah, who was among the team�s backroom technical staff, is expected to brief the commission about his role in the team.
