Calls For CHRAJ Boss To Resign Premature Ayikoi Otoo

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ayikoi Otoo, has described calls for the Commissoner of Human Rights and Adminstrative Justice (CHRAJ), Lauretta Lamptey to resign as premature. The CHRAJ Boss has come under widespread criticism for her decision to spend about $180,000 on rent alone within a space of three years. Her decision has prompted various groups and individuals to call for her removal. The Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri has initiated moves to impeach the CHRAJ Boss. The Auditor General has already begun an audit into the matter, but drawing from Article 146, Article 288, Annoh-Dompreh told Citi News that it is clear and unambiguous and so if there is supposed to be any investigation by the Auditor General, it will still not undermine or discount a petition submitted to the presidency. But speaking on Joy News File, Ayikoi Otoo suggested that the processes should be slowed down to ensure that justice is served. Why dont we take our time to put everything in order? We should not be seen to be engaging in exercises of futility, he insisted. Speaking on the same platform, the National Cordinator for the Ghana Martime Secretariat, Mr. Kwame Fodjour advised individuals seeking the removal of the CHRAJ Boss not to resort to the media to have her dismissed, saying we should be careful not to do a media trial There are actually a variety of processes[involved to have the CHRAJ Boss impeached] and it will be prudent for us[Ghanaians] to see that these processes go underway without any interferencehe added.
