The quest by members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to fill various national executive positions is heating up, although the date and venue is unknown. One position being keenly contested is that of the National Organizer, which is currently occupied by Opanyin Yaw Boateng Gyan, and being eyed by the current Deputy General Secretary, Kofi Adams, Spokesperson of ex-President Jerry John Rawlings, who is also the founder of the NDC. But it seems Mr. Adams is on his way to a catastrophic defeat as party insiders indicate that his popularity has dwindled, especially because of the many roles he played in forming groups to oust the then President, John Evans Atta Mills, by Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, wife of the NDC founder. Mr. Adams, is said to be the favourite of the Flagstaff House; the seat of government, but it appears even appointees of President John Mahama, some of who have held positions within the party, don�t find him attractive for the National Organizer position as depicted in a picture pasted on social media, over the weekend. The picture, first spotted on the Deputy Minister for the Ashanti Region, Joseph Yamin�s facebook wall, had a monkey holding plastic bottled water which had Mr. Adams� picture embossed on it. It has the inscription �Vote Kofi Adams as National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress�. The picture, appears to be saying only monkeys would be voting for Kofi Adams, and that Opanyin Yaw Boateng Gyan, is the favourites of human beings. The monkey sitting comfortably on a tree, aside holding Mr. Adams� sponsored-bottled-water in its left hand, had a chicken bone in it right hand, indicating to watchers that it had been fed with fried chicken. It is clear the ex-Youth and Sports Deputy Minister, was making fun of Mr. Adams� campaign strategy. Indeed, friends and party supporters, who visited Mr. Yamin�s facebook page and saw the picture, had a good laugh about the picture, while a few others expressed concern about where Mr. Adams got the money for that venture. Some of the comments read: �winner�, �all love NDC leadership�, � what a wow�, �using taxpayers money to feed monkeys, shame�, �even the monkeys love Kofi Adams how much more you human being� and �Kofi Adams nooo size�. Mr. Yamin, was once alleged to be a member of Friends of Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings (FONKAR) in the Ashanti Region, where he is currently the Regional Secretary of the NDC. Meanwhile, information available to The Herald, indicates that few leading members who formed the National Democratic Party (NDP) owned and financed by Nana Konadu Agyeamn Rawlings, are on a collusion cause to foil Mr. Adams� ambition of remaining an executive member of the NDC. According to the NDP executives namely, Joseph Bediako and Ernest Kofi Owusu Bempah, who claim to have formed both FONKAR and NDP, they cannot watch Mr. Rawlings� Spokesman to rundown the NDP and contest executive position in the NDC, when they were so much against that same party few years ago. They explained that Mr. Adams was so instrumental in the formation of the NDP and that he at a point proposed the colours, symbol and name of the party. They accuse him of dishonesty and also engaging in politics of convenience following his claim that the NDP is a two member political party, which needs to be disbanded. Bediako, for instance has threatened to release some damning tapes about Mr. Adams, which will dent his image for life.
