STATEMENT: Nana Addo & Alan Must Back Out If,.... - Osonoba United

On the 10th of June 2010 in Kumasi the Osonoma United through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) appealed to the two frontrunners in the race for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential ticket, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and Mr. Alan Kyerematen, to resign from the contest for the sake of victory 2012 and the peace and unity of the party. We said their acrimonious campaign was dividing the party and must not be allowed to continue. But some with special interests chose to call us NDC moles. In our statement issued by our Coordinator we said the NPP could not afford to suffer an electoral defeat in 2012 because of the presidential ambitions of the two. We pleaded with the leadership of the party therefore to prevail on them to take the back stage since there were other competent personalities with solid record of achievements. We also cautioned against the use of money to influence delegates in the run up to the presidential primaries and said this could destroy the nations democracy. Were we right or were we right! Genuine Supporters of the NPPs attention must be drawn to the need for all of us to protect the Partys unity. Before we can talk of preserving our unity, we need to face a few truths. For only the Truth can set us free to win in 2016". Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in a radio interview which he granted to Focus Radio a private radio station in London just about a week after the results of the 2010 primaries justifies our plea which we made. Unfortunately the same mistake is being repeated as we enter into the primaries to elect our flagbearer for the 2016 elections. If we dont change the way we do things we cannot change the results of 2008 and 2012. The Tsunami or Cancer called NANALAN will sweep us away. Below is the publication on the modernGhanaWeb dated 18th August 2010 titled: - Kennedy Agyapong: Ill Not Be Part Of Nana Addos Campaign: While the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is pulling the strings together to bring unity in the party, the outspoken Member of Parliament for the Assin North constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, says he does support any unity move. The so-called unity in the party will simply not work, he said. Mr. Agyapong, who was speaking a London- based radio station, Focus FM, sometime last week, said that the insults and personal attacks that characterized the campaign towards the election of the flag bearer of the NPP make it impossible to have genuine unity in the party. Mr. Agyapong, popularly known as Akompreko, told the station that the manner he personally was attacked by people close to Mr. Alan Kyeremanten, one of the five aspirants, was an eyesore. According to him, he was not going to be part of the campaign of the flag bearer of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo towards the 2012 elections. It is Nana Addo who has won the election and if he is inviting people to his thanksgiving service so be it, but I will not be part of it, he said. So with all this evidence available, why did the Nana Addo led NPP leadership blame the NDC, Afari Gyan, Tarzan, Justice Atuguba, Pink Sheets and anything and anybody else they could blame for their double abysmal electoral performance i.e. 2008/2012 and not Nana Addo Dankwa Afufo Addo, John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong? Hon. Kennedy Agyapong told the London-based radio station that the kind of insults that were rained on him in the run-up to the election on August 7th 2010, makes it impossible for him to be part of the campaign. I will be running my campaign at my constituency but not as part of Nanas campaign, he said. Mr. Agyapong, who spoke with anger, said that the unity talks would go on all right but inwardly people would not be satisfied. According to the Scriptures a mans enemies are the men of his own house. After Nana Addos refusal to apologize for his ALL DIE BE DIE and WE AKANS statement s Just before the 2012 elections; Kennedy Agyapong also faced charges at the Accra Fast Track High Court for allegedly declaring war on all Ewes and Gas living in the Ashanti Region and calling on NPP activists in the region to attack them with machetes and cutlasses. Today I declare war in this country, Gbevlo-Lartey and his people, IGP should know this. Voltarians and Gas in the Ashanti Region will not be spared. If anyone touches you, butcher him with a cutlass Kennedy Ohene Agyapong allegedly warned. In his first major radio interview on a Tema-based Adom FM after his arrest the politician cum businessman lashed out at the New Patriotic Party for deserting him at is time of adversity, claiming he has been left to fight his case in court all by himself asking rhetorically whether the NPP as a party is worth dying for. Rather interesting Hmmmmn! In preparation for Election 2016 Hon. Kennedy Agyapong believed The issue of faction is killing the NPP, he is on record to have said. Before that problem is solved, there is no way the party can make progress, Mr. Agyapong noted. He said If you are to hear people in Nanas camp talk about Mr. Alan Kyerematen, you would have pity on the latter and this is also the same when you hear Alans camp talk about Nana Addo, he said. He warned that until the petty internal wrangling is halted and the sabotage attempts by blocs in the party quelled, the NPP will make no meaningful progress in future elections. If there is any political party out there that urgently needs a surgical operation to survive, then the attention must be on the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Those who fail to learn from their history are bound to repeat the same! Fast forward towards the 2016 elections the Assin Central MP again has opened another can of worms when he alleged that some NPP bigwigs have schemed to poison Nana Addo in the event that he becomes President of Ghana and disrespects Ashantis. This is after accusing all the old NPP Executives of being corrupt and so therefore supported Kwabena Adjei Agyapong and Paul Afoko. He now screams I am ashamed Kwabena Agyapong is doing the bidding of Kwadwo Mpiani [Former Chief of Staff] despite the resources I spent to campaign for him to become General Secretary Now he says Dr. Anane and Kwadwo Mpianim want him dead and that there is some kind of hit squad sent to assassinate him. Agyiri Blankson calls Dr. Ananne a liar, Dr. Addo Kufuor calls Hilda Addo a liar! Sir John and Nana Ohene Ntow are battling it out. So where is NPP going from here? Obviously nowhere! We shall remain in the bush come 2016 as we did in 2012! After we were chased out into the bush 2008 by John III and John IV. What the NPP need to do is to unite behind a credible winnable candidate as the Honorable Francis Addai Nimo to continue the legacy of John Agyekum Kufuor aka Gentle Giant; then as the Lord lives the NPP cannot miss 2016. So far no one has thrown any insult from Hon. Addai Nimos camp neither has any insult been thrown into his camp. Let the 141,000 NPP Wise and Discerning Delegates vote for Hon. Addai Nimo on 18th October 2014 and a UNITED NPP will be victorious come 2016 without any acrimony or hitch. Lawyer Appiah Menka and the NPP Ashanti caucus should stop making excuses, they claim that the party has no money and t hat Nana Addo has already been sold. Osonoma United wishes to know how one can rebrand to resell a product that has already been allegedly sold twice. [2008 and 2012] This is fraudulent. In John Kufuors time the party had no money and in 2008 Akufo Addos money was no match for John Atta Mills but they won. Hon. Addai Nimo is God sent! Failure to heed this caution as was done in 2010 will keep the Elephant in the bush in 2016. Osonoba Peter Nketia, 0234234646 Osonoba Jesse Anaba Osonoba Kwame Adade Cc. Other Media Houses
