Building on its foundation of raising funds for breast cancer, Airtel Ghana today announces the launch of its month long commitment to support Breast Cancer Awareness across all sectors of its business. The recently adjudged CSR Company of the year has for the last three years, pledged and demonstrated its commitment to support Breast cancer awareness In this regard, the company has instructed Staff to design innovative, insightful and fun ways to drum up public awareness throughout the month of October. Last year Airtel Ghana supported the Sweden Ghana Medical Cancer Foundation with GHC 3000 raised by employees and also donated 14KVA Mahindra Generator to Run for a Cure Africa Foundation. The pink ribbon is often worn to depict cancer awareness. The ribbon stands for hope for the future and the charitable goodness of people and businesses that publicly support the breast cancer movement. It is intended to evoke solidarity in women and men who currently have breast cancer. Hannah Agbozo, Airtels Corporate Affairs Director adds, Airtel is a company devoted to health and well-being of its employees and their families and developing meaningful initiatives around the needs of customers and the communities we operate in. This makes our support for breast cancer awareness such a great fit for the business and were delighted to be building on our support from previous years, to reach our employees and customers alike with the important message of early detection. This year, all funds raised internally from the campaign will be donated to an establishment to support the course. We wish to include all our subscribers, engage and interact with them in order to make our goal achievable through social media. Management and staff will regularly update Airtel customers of its activities in this month of pink on the companys Facebook and twitter page. So this month of October, we at Airtel are making a change in the lives of many, by fighting breast cancer. We are thinking pink, buying pink, donating pink and wearing pink every Friday this October and together we will win this fight.
