Azorka Blasts NPP

THE CHARACTER assassination, attacks and defamatory statements being used by cohorts and some leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) signify that the NPP would be a nuisance and threat to election 2016, says National Democratic Congress (NDC) Northern Regional chairman, Chief Sorfu Azorka. At a press briefing at his Zogbeli residence, a suburb of Tamale Metropolis, he said the NPP has nothing good to offer Ghanaians considering the massive division in the party and the act of chasing, insults and the beating of their party leadership. Chief Azorka warned that the actions and violence in the NPP may be replicated in the upcoming general election if measures are not put in place since no one seems to be calling them to order. He said the sons and daughters of Danquah, Dombo and Busia tradition are putting the country into political mood which has become a topic for discussion in the international community which he said had curtailed foreigners and investors from investing in the country. Most investors anticipate lawlessness in the country per the degree of threat and insults often used by the NPP. He added. Chief Azorka appealed to independent organizations, traditional leaders, the clergy, security agencies and concerned Ghanaians to take it as a duty and call the NPP to order, as well as educate them on how to address internal happenings and what to say on political platforms rather than remaining mute. The same utterances was used in 2010 and were extended to election 2012 which landed most of the hierarchy of the party (NPP) to ignite passions by using words like All die be die, ye akan fuoo, beat any voltarian you see with ticks, we are winning at all costs, election 2012 is going to be a kangaroo war. He said He, however, appealed to all ardent supporters and influential members of the NPP to always consider mother Ghana first before uttering a word to the general public. He advised delegates of the NPP not to allow any of the three aspirants who are vying for the flagbearer slot on October 18 to buy them with money, but should vote for a candidate who is not violent, nice in presentation and can withstand the candidature of any person from the NDC.
