Kofi Annan Congratulates Duo Nobel Peace Prize Laureates

Chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation, Kofi Atta Annan has lauded honorees of 2014 Nobel Peace Prize. Pakistani child education activist Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthi, an Indian child rights campaigner, jointly won the award. At the age of just 17, Malala is the youngest ever recipient of the prize and has expressed happiness for winning the prize �with a person from India�. The teenager was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in October 2012 for campaigning for girls' education. She now lives in Birmingham in the UK where she is currently schooling. Kofi Annan who won the prize 13 years ago said �Malala Yousafzai has emerged as the world�s inspirational figure on the right to education and has proven that one is never too young to lead� However, Malala �s co-winner, Mr Satyarthi has maintained the tradition of Mahatma Gandhi and headed various forms of peaceful protests, �focusing on the grave exploitation of children for financial gain,� the committee said at the Nobel Institute in Oslo.
