Government is to cap the master facility agreement with the China Development Bank at One point five billion dollars instead of the initial three billion dollars it was sourcing to finance some key infrastructure projects. Government is also seeking Parliamentary approval for some financing facilities to construct among other projects, the Kasoa interchange and Kwame Nkrumah Circle interchange. These were laid before Parliament for consideration when the House reconvened for an emergency sitting on Wednesday. The Speaker, Edward Doe Adjaho recalled the House to undertake some urgent national business. The emergency sitting is being held at a committee hall of the Accra International Conference Centre due to the non-completion of the expansion works in the chamber. Welcoming the MPs, the Speaker apologized to Members for the inconvenience of using a Committee Room. Presenting the Business Statement for the last time as Majority Leader, Dr. Benjamin Kunbuor said in addition to working on the CDB facility and the Kasoa interchange project, the three day sitting will also see Members considering the adoption of a report from the Appointments Committee. Dr. Kunbuor introduced his successor, Alban Bagbin to the House. The new Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin was then ushered to the Majority leader�s seat to complete the transition process. He pledged his support to the Speaker and Leadership of the House to improve on their work. The Minority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu appealed to the Majority Leader to always work in the interest of the House. He was optimistic that Mr. Bagbin will distinguish himself in his new office.
