NDC Election Calendar Is Destroyed...

Deputy General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Lawson has confessed the obvious that the injunction from the Kumasi High Court to restrain the party from proceeding with its Ashanti regional executive elections will eventually destroy the partys election calendar. According to him, the court injunction is certainly affecting the partys Regional conferences as well as its preparedness to conduct the National Congress to elect executives to man the affairs of the ruling party in its request to retain power in the 2016 elections. Speaking on Oman FMs Morning Show, George Lawson in his capacity as a member of the ruling NDC said he is in support of the Kumasi High Court suggestions that the case should have been settled out of court. The fact is that it has derailed the election process...definitely the election calendar is destroyed as we are waiting on the Lord for the next direction as to when we can conduct our elections,by now we should have been moving to close on the Regional conferences and prepare for the National Congress; the way it is now, it is not going to happen anytime soon. I personally would have wished for out of court settlement because this is family matters which should have been settled in our home. Though this is not the position of my party, this would have saved our party time and some resources, he asserted. Though he did not quantify the cost the court injunction may incur on the partys purse, he however admitted to the time and resources wasted in the course of the court proceedings, insisting evaluation will give definite cost at the end the court case.
