Ex-Prez Kufuor's Decision Not To Vote Is A 'Mistake' - Ade Coker

Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Ade Coker has described as a mistake, former President John Agyekum Kufuors decision not to take part in the upcoming National Delegates Congress of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The former President has decided not to take part in the upcoming NPP election. He also abstained from voting in the NPPs Super Delegates Congress held in August in the Northern Region. Contributing to a panel discussion on PEACE FM's Morning show Kokrokoo, Ade Coker dared ex-President Kufuor to be bold in declaring which of the candidates he supports instead of telling us he is not going to vote. Three candidates: Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Alan K. Kyerematen and Hon. Francis Addai Nimoh will be fighting for the flagbearership position of the NPP during its National Delegates Congress on Saturday, 18 October, 2014. Many in the NPP have accused the former president of taking sides in the contest for the presidential slot. He is accused of supporting Alan Kyerematens candidature against Nana Akufo-Addo. Even though former President Kufuor has debunked those claims, that perception is still on the mind of some members. It is a big mistake for former President kufuor not to take part in the elections. He should just indicate who he supports because some of the elders in the party have already declared for their candidate. He needs to be courageous to declare his candidate; he shouldnt tell us that he is not going to vote he indicated.
