Akufo-Addo Rounds Off Campaign On Thursday

Nana Akufo-Addo, flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will on Thursday, October 16, wrap up his campaign in Accra, two days before the National Congress, which takes place in all 275 constituencies across the country. A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by Eugene Arhin, Press Secretary to Nana Akufo �Addo said, on Thursday afternoon he will address Greater-Accra Delegates and party supporters at a mini rally to be held in front of Avenue Chemist, Opposite Abrantie Spot, Abeka Lapaz, Accra, a popular location for party events. The statement said Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, some Members of Parliament, and other notable speakers will also address the rally. The event which begins at noon will climax Nana Akufo-Addo's nationwide campaign which started on July 29 at Akwei House, Accra Central. On August 31, the Special Electoral College of the New Patriotic Party reduced the number of aspiring presidential candidates from seven to five, with an overwhelming 81% endorsement for Nana Akufo-Addo. Two of the short-listed candidates, Mr Joe Ghartey, and Mr Kofi Osei Ameyaw, both Members of Parliament, withdrew from the race, and threw their support behind Nana Akufo-Addo.
