President John Mahama Visits Tobinco Factory [PHOTOS]

President John Dramani Mahama yesterday visited the new ultra modern factory of Tobinco Group, Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre. His visit was a follow up on the disbursement of the EDAIF facility by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to support local manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals. The EDAIF facility was disbursed to Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre in 2014 to support its working capital. The facility has contributed immensely to the effective running of the factory by way purchase of a standby 1500 KVA Generator, purchase of some raw materials, professional support fees and spare parts of machinery. In his Welcome Speech, The CEO of Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre and Chairman of Tobinco Group pledged his commitment to help make Ghana the leading Pharmaceutical Industry in Africa. He also highlighted that the factory has the capacity to employ about 2000 direct staff. The President commended the Ministry of Trade and Industry, EDAIF Directors and Entrance Pharmaceuticals and Research Centre�s Management for good utilization of the disbursed capital. He added that the Government is committed to ensuring the sustainability of local Pharmaceutical Manufacturing of Quality Medicines.
