Anyone Who Ever Said Atuabo Gas Will End Energy Crisis Is Foolish - Baby Ansaba

Managing Editor of the Punch newspaper, Ebenezer Ato Sam, also known as Baby Ansaba in the media fraternity has jabbed his own ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the innumerous lies pertaining to the energy crisis. Acknowledging the efforts of President Mahama to end the frequent power outages in the country, he said it is unwise of any stalwart in the ruling NDC government to tell Ghanaians that the Atuabo Gas Plant which is due to produce only 500 mega watts is the final solution to the energy crisis. Baby Ansabas comment was borne out of a statement made by the Ablekuma West MP, Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekufful on Oman Fm who reportedly claim to have heard from President Mahama and the Energy Minister that the Atuabo Gas Plant will end the energy challenges that have bedevilled the country. ..from the Minister of Energy, right down to the President, they have told Ghanaians that Atuabo Gas Plant will end the frequent power outages.During the launching of the Bui Dam, it was repeated that Atuabo will put a stop to the outage of power supply, she said. But a furious Baby Ansabah, who claimed to be unaware of any such promise from the Mahama-led administration to Ghanaians; described those who reportedly made such a promise as foolish. I have not heard anybody say Atuabo Gas Plant will end the crisis in power supply; how can only 500 mega watts be the solution to our energy crisis?...who says Atuabo Gas Plant will end the energy crisis?...... If anybody says Atuabo Gas Plant has the panacea to end our energy crisis, then I will say, that person is foolish; no matter who that person is, I say that person is foolish, he stated on the station's Morning Show platform. Meanwhile, the nationwide load shedding situation has gone haywire. Reports says the Electricity Company of Ghana, is set to implement a revised timetable for the ongoing power rationing which will intensify the load shedding. Barring any last minute intervention from the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum and stakeholders, the ECG says electricity consumers under the new arrangement will enjoy power for 24 hours and endure a power cut for the next 24 hours.
