I Will Resource Party Executives - Alan Assures NPP

Mr Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, one of the three persons vying to become the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2016 elections, yesterday rounded off his campaign in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region with a promise to pay all party office holders a monthly allowance if he was voted for. Speaking to cheering party delegates drawn from some parts of the Ashanti Region at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi, Mr Kyerematen stated that each party executive, from polling station coordinators to regional executives, would also be given a means of transport, ranging from bicycles, motorbikes to pick-ups. He explained that to avoid situations such as what transpired in the past when resources meant for elections stayed with some party persons in Accra, he would use mobile money transfer to give party executives their monthly allowances and money for campaign. He also assured the party faithful that if elected to lead the party, he would use two years to ensure that all the 275 constituency branches of the party had their own offices. Touching on the unity of the party, Mr Kyerematen said he epitomised harmony and said he exhibited that when, in 2007, he gracefully conceded defeat to avoid a run-off to allow Nana Akufo-Addo to contest the 2008 elections as the partys presidential candidate. He added that he had worked hard within the party and participated in all party activities, especially anytime he was around, and gave as an example his attendance at the court hearing of the presidential election petition and also his active participation in both the 2008 and the 2012 election campaigns. He gave an assurance that if he was elected flag bearer, he would increase, the NPPs votes in the Ashanti Region to at least, 85 per cent and ensure that the party got at least 35 per cent of the votes in the stronghold of the NDC, the Volta Region. Mr Kyerematen appealed to the delegates to vote according to the messages of the candidates.
