NPP Is Not Broke..But Party Is Definitely Faced With Challenges Nat. Treasurer

National Treasurer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah has rubbished the Friday Edition of Daily Guide publication that says NPP is broke. Daily Guide Friday, October 17, 2014 publication stated that the NPP is struggling to raise funds for the all-important political exercise as there are widespread concerns that the much anticipated election might not come off as scheduled. The immediate past General Secretary of NPP, Sir John is quoted to have vowed to resist any attempt by the National Executives to postpone the all-important event. According to Sir John, the party has no money and accused the National officers of not telling the public the actual situation on the ground, asking them to find innovative ways of raising funds for tomorrows election. But reacting to the allegations made by Sir John on Okay Fms Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the current General Secretary of NPP, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong and the National Treasurer of the party, Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah both rubbished the claim. According to the National Treasurer of the party, it is an undeniable fact that every opposition party is going through financial challenges but it is not enough reason for the speculation that NPP is broke as reported by the Daily Guide. He pointed out that the important aspect of the congress, which is security and supervision of the polls, have already been taken care of. He revealed that the National Executives have already completed a deal with the Electoral Commission which is mandated to supervise the election, and that of security for the elections have been finalized. Addressing how to take care of the 141,000 delegates, he hinted that the Regional Chairmen and the three Presidential hopefuls will take care of the delegates to move them to the various polling centers for the election. He however pleaded with the delegates to sacrifice for the party as any attempt to live life to the fullest will not inure to the benefit of a party in opposition. The election is coming off tomorrow but it is not easy to organize election in opposition when it comes to funding. We have managed to complete the most important aspect of the election for tomorrow; the EC and the security have been take care of for tomorrow..all those who have been helping with finances have promised their support after the Congress; we are pleading with the delegates to sacrifice for the party incase what we are expecting do not come on timeNPP is not broke but I will admit we are facing some financial challenges pertaining to securing funds as expected; every company may not be able to give certain money immediately but it doesnt mean the company is broke; it will take a while to gather the required funds and that is the challenge NPP is facing now..we are not broke," he stated.
