Man Arrested For Killing Alleged Rival

A 23-year-old unemployed man has been arrested for allegedly killing his alleged rival. The suspect, Kwesi Essandoh, is said to have traced his 30-year-old girlfriend, Ama Asibi, and the deceased, Yaw Daniel alias Nuworza, 38, to their room around 11 p.m. on October 11, 2014. Essandoh is alleged to have drawn a knife and inflicted multiple knife-wounds on the deceased, leading to his death at Gyesikrom-Ayigbe Town near Agona Kwanyako. The incident was said to have taken place after the deceased had failed to stay away from Asibi following threats from the suspect. Essandoh is reported to have attacked the deceased while the deceased was spending the night in Asibi�s room. Earlier relationships According to information gathered, Asibi had earlier started an amorous relationship with the deceased in 2012 but later broke up with him after a misunderstanding. Asibi, after ending her relationship with the deceased, met Essandoh and started another relationship with him which also ended a few months later. Sources said Asibi renewed her relationship with Daniel but the decision did not go down well with the suspect, who, after spotting the two together, threatened him (deceased) to stay away from his girlfriend. Swedru Police According to the Swedru District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Paul Wesley Baah, the suspect quickly went into hiding after committing the dastardly act. He noted that the victim was quickly rushed to the Swedru Government Hospital on October 12, 2104 after a formal report had been lodged at the Mankrong Junction Police. He indicated that the victim was discharged but was sent back to the same hospital on October 17, 2014 when he complained of severe pains as a result of the wounds. Mr Baah added that the victim unfortunately, passed away the following day while on admission at the hospital and his body had been deposited at the same hospital for autopsy. He stressed that the suspect was arrested last Sunday upon a tip-off and was currently in custody assisting in investigations.
