NDC Chairmen Accuse Mahama For Supporting Their Opponents

Some Regional chairmen of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) are accusing President John Dramani Mahama for given his support to their opponents in the upcoming regional elections. The regional chairmen (names held) are complaining bitterly about president Mahamas alleged support for their opponents with others describing the move as an act of ingratitude on the part of the head of the state and leader of the governing party. The said campaign to remove some of the regional chairmen is being championed by a cabal at the flagstaff house on behalf of president Mahama. The disgruntled regional chairmen also cited a recent incident by the president during the celebration of Muslims Eid-Adha at the Kumasi Central Mosque where he insisted that T.K. Braimah, an aspiring Ashanti regional chairman sat on the dais with him whilst the current regional Chairman Yaw Obimpeh sat amongst the ordinary people. This, according to some party faithful, was President Mahamas tacit support for T. K. Braimah in a race that is expected to be fiercely contested. Friends of T.K. Braimah were the ones who gave the President the loudest cheer when he took the microphone to address the auspicious occasion and they were acknowledged by the president before leaving the Central Mosque. He beckoned the supporters to come close to his car as he lowered the window mirror to take a few posters of T.K. Braimah. What brought out the loudest cheer was when the President after taking the posters into his car, raised his thumb up on the poster as he took off. This sent the tons of supporters into frenzy as some who were carrying drums at their back drummed so heavily, with others also dancing the warlike dance in appreciation to the President for endorsing their preferred candidate. This action by the president has been condemned by the regional chairmen who felt the leader of the ruling party was giving credence to the perception that he was supporting aspirants seeking to unseat them. We supported and worked for him to win and now he is president so he is rewarding our effort by supporting people against us, the infuriated chairmen stated sarcastically.
