It Will Take More Than Nana Addo-Bawumia Ticket For NPP To Win Power

Professor Richard Amoako Baah, Head of Political Science Department at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has welcomed the choice Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as Nana Addo's running mate. According to the Political Science Lecturer, the choice of Dr. Bawumia as the Running Mate for Nana Akufo-Addo will dilute the perception that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is sn Akan party. In an interview with the host of Okay FMs Ade Akye Abia programme, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, the political science professor said the choice of Dr. Bawumia has shown consistency and decisiveness of Nana Akufo-Addo as his preference for his two-time Running Mate was made known before the NPPs Presidential Primaries was held. He added that Nana Akufo-Addos early decision to maintain Dr. Bawumia for the third time as his Running Mate silenced any speculation and tension that could have arose after Nana Addo was elected the Flagbearer. He however asserted that Nana Akufo-Addos over 94% victory in the just ended Presidential Primaries was an indication that the delegates already accepted his decision to go with Dr. Bawumia in the 2016 elections. To Professor Amoako Baah, the landslide victory for Nana Akufo-Addo has nullified the perception of factionalism in the NPP as it has become clear that the tension is not at the grassroots but with some few leading members belonging to the camps of the Presidential aspirants. Inasmuch as he sees the Nana Addo-Bawumia ticket to be perfect for NPP in the 2016 elections, Professor Amoako Baah has called on Nana Akufo-Addo to reach out to people within and outside NPP to win the 2016 elections. Nana Addo-Bawumia pair is good in terms of Dr. Bawumias exceptional prowess in the economic management; we are in critical moment and so we need integrity and performance to run this country...for the NPP to win 2016 elections, they have to reach out to people who can help them and not just NPP members; reach out to other political parties including NDC because that is how politics is won. I will say the same thing to NDC as well...Nana Akufo-Addo should draw the losers in the Presidential Primaries to his side to help in his campaign, he advised.
