PPP Is Best Alternative To NDC And NPP E/R Regional Chair

The newly elected Eastern Regional Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Fred Dua Agyeman has appealed to Ghanaians to vote the party into power in the next general elections, insisting it is the only credible alternative to the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He made the call at the partys regional elections on Saturday. According to Citi News Eastern Regional correspondent, Appiah Kubi, Mr Dua Agyeman pledged to work hand in hand with all the party members to take the region by surprise in the 2016 elections. He urged every member of the party, as well as all floating voters in the Eastern Region, to vote for the PPP in the 2016 general elections, Appiah Kubi added. Mr. Fred Dua Agyemang polled 674 votes while his rival, Mr, David Tettey, polled 516 votes out of the total votes cast. Madam Eva Acquah was also elected as the Vice-Chairperson of the party while Mr. Odattey Hayford and Madam Rosina Kofi polled 726 votes and 818 votes to become the Regional Organiser and Women Organizer respectively. The 2012 Vice Presidential Candidate of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Eva Lokko earlier stated that the party is not dormant but re-strategising to win the 2016 elections. People think we are quiet, we are not quiet, we are building from the ground up and we are strengthening up our legs and arms in the right way and PPP is getting ready to win 2016 elections, she said on the Point Blank segment on Eyewitness News. The party in the 2012 elections only managed to poll 182,649 votes representing 1.65 percent. The party has since been criticized and deemed unprepared to win subsequent elections. But the Leader and Founder of the party, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, in May, absolved the party from blame, saying Ghanaians should blame themselves for the current economic hardships because they failed to vote for the PPP into power.
