HENRY EKOW Manly-Spain, a lead contender for the Greater Accra National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairmanship slot has received massive endorsement from delegates of the party ahead of the regional congress due to his message of ensuring economic empowerment of the constituencies through establishment of businesses for them. According to them, Manly-Spain�s economic empowerment policy for the constituencies is realistic and achievable and has gained the acceptability of the rank-and-file of the NDC in the Greater Accra region. For the delegates, Mr. Manly-Spain is seen by constituency and branch executives, supporters, sympathizers and activists as a team-player and a unifier who respects divergent views, hates factionalism, selfless, hardworking and above all humble. They explained that the election of Mr. Manly-Spain as the new Greater Accra Regional Chairman would help to attract more floating voters for the party to complement that from their strongholds come 2016 elections which is very crucial to them. �Mr. Manly-Spain is extremely different on how he conducts himself with respect to handling party issues with members. He is indeed our hope for the Greater Accra region as our chairman� the delegates averred. The NDC delegates made the above statement known to the DAILY HERITAGE after having a meeting with Manly-Spain. �If there is any aspiring Chairman who is working hard to ensure victory for the NDC in December 2016 elections, then that person is Mr. Manly-Spain and we will not let him work in vain. We are going all out to support his effort�, they added. The decision by the delegates, according to the spokesperson, Victus Amevor the Propaganda Secretary for Ablekuman North is due to the fact that the aspiring Chairman, Mr. Manly-Spain is taking his unity message to the door steps of the people, a move described as unprecedented in the history of politics in the Greater Accra NDC. Mr. Amevor told the paper that the grounds have been watered to the level that the margin between the Manly-Spain and the other contestants is going to be extremely wide come congress day. Apart from that, the NDC delegates said that Mr. Manly-Spain�s message is devoid of promises but is rather centered on how best to empower the constituencies and bring unity and tranquility to the party to present a formidable front come 2016 elections. According to the delegates, Mr. Manly-Spain has been quick to identify with the people in the region as well as those in the party very well that others who belong to other political parties are having a second thought. �Let save the NDC from collapsing in the Greater Accra Region under the chairmanship of Ade-Coker before we go to opposition. And the best way to rescue the party from total collapse is to show him the red card during congress� Mr. Amevor added.
