Kweku Baako Dictating To Akufo-Addo...

Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, to appoint Dan Botwe as his campaign Manager. Mr. Baako, who in 1992 was once a Campaign official of the PHP, led by Major-General Emmanuel Alexander Erskine, but failed to make any meaningful impact, believes the Okere Legislator would do a better job than any of his contenders, which newspapers reported are gunning for the position. Four persons Stephen Ntim, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Boakye Agyarko and Dan Botwe were reported to have been earmarked for the position. Mr. Baako speaking on Peace fms Kokrokoo Programme on Wednesday, pledged his unflinching support for the former NPP General Secretary. I have my biases in this [selection of a campaign manager for NPP] because there is one I believe can do the job better than all of them and obviously is Dan Botwe, he said on the programme. Mr. Botwe as General Secretary of the party led the NPP into power in 2001 and helped it maintain power in 2004, a feat which has only been equalled by current General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu-Nketia. Though, Mr. Agyarko was the campaign manager for Nana Addo in the just ended NPP presidential primaries which he won 94 per cent of votes, Mr. Botwe is still tipped to win the race for Campaign Manager. He has made similar comments on Metro TV. Recently, Mr Baako said his conscience, conviction and commitment will not allow him to vote for the governing (NDC) in any election. According to him, the decision is based on principle, and devoid of any relationship he might have with the ruling partys flagbearer. It is a matter of principle and there is a reason why I dont vote and will never vote NDC; not even if my mother contests, he told Accra based radio station Peace FM. Mr. Baako, who is a known member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), revealed that he has been voting skirt and blouse -that is, voting for an NPP presidential candidate and CPP parliamentary candidate. Im not a member of the NPP, but everybody knows my choice as far as the presidential ticket is concerned. In 2000 and 2004 elections I voted for ex-president Kufuor, Akufo-Addo in 2008 and 2012. Though voting is done by secret ballot, Kwaku Baako disclosed that he would vote for Nana Akufo-Addo in 2016. In 2016, I will vote Nana; it is non-negotiable, he declared. Kweku Baako further added that even if my father contests for NDC position, I wont vote for him. I am not a member of the NPP but everybody knows my choice as far as the presidential ticket is concerned. Because as for me by conscience, conviction and commitment, I wont vote NDC and so if you are even my father you wont get my vote. It is non-negotiable. It is a matter of principle and there is a reason why I dont vote and will never vote NDC; not even if my mother contests.
