Those Who Live By The Sword Die By The Sword - Ablakwa

Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has backed the revolution that saw the overthrow of Burkinabe President, Blaise Compaore on Friday, October 31. In an apparent support for the violent mass protest that compelled Compaore to announce his resignation, the former deputy Information minister wrote on his twitter handle: Those who live by the sword die by the sword as the good book warns He, however, expressed concerns over the attempt by the military in the country to usurp the power of the people. But the democratic victory of the ordinary masses in Burkina Faso should not be usurped by a few elites in the military he stated. Currently, the military has taken charge of the governance of the former French colony under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Zida who served as a member of the presidential guard for the ousted leader. The Mass protests started earlier last week after Mr Compaore sought to amend the constitution and extend his long hold on the presidency. On Thursday, protesters set fire to parliament and government buildings in the capital Ouagadougou. The deposed President and his family have sought refuge in Ivory Coast under the care of President Alassane Ouattara.
