Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, founder and general overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries has advised couples contemplating divorce to carefully think through it before they decide to walk out. According to him, �it is very complicated,� especially in marriages where children are also involved. The 'man of God' and his wife whom he had married for 26 years - Francisca - separated in 2001. They got back together, but divorced in 2007 due to what the Archbishop said were �irreconcilable differences.� Attempts to settle the divorce proceedings out of court failed. In 2008, Archbishop Duncan-Williams married Rosa Whitaker, the CEO and President of the Whitaker Group, a Washington, D.C. based consultancy in trade and investment in Africa. When in an interview on Joy FM Monday morning, he was asked whether or not his view of divorce and re-marriage changed after his personal experiences, he said he was not going to answer questions on his divorce because it's not new. Explaining why he does not want to discuss issues concerning his former marriage, the Archbishop said he does not like dealing with issues that give room and opportunity for people to keep certain things. What one does not talk about dies, but keeps alive what he or she keeps talking about, he said. According to him, his previous marriage is history so he prefers not to keep stories about it alive by always talking about it. �It is believed, which is my belief that what you don�t talk about dies and what you keep talking about, you keep it alive. This is something I don�t want to keep alive. Everybody knows the story of my life�, the Archbishop stated. �I believe what the scriptures say about marriage, divorce and remarriage,� he noted and said that should also not mean that anybody suffering any form of abuse in such situation should remain in it. �This thing about divorce is not that simple�and that is not to say that if you are in an abuse situation you have to stay in it and die.� �I don�t want my situation to give anybody a license to die or to go and divorce their spouse�It�s not that simple, it�s very complicated,� he stated.
