Public Officers Told To Be Modest

The Primate of the Brotherhood Church, the Reverend Seth K. Adofo, has urged public officials to lead modest lives. They should avoid ostentatious lifestyles, which they could only sustain through corruption. He asked them to identify with the ordinary people in the society, show concern for their daily struggles and focus energy on helping to make things better for them. This was the only way they could carry the people along and get them to share in the national development effort. Primate Adofo made the call at a service to bring the curtains down on a week-long national prayer and fasting festival held by the church in Kumasi. He encouraged the people to live within their means and uphold the values of integrity and accountability. He said it was important for, especially politicians, to be truthful to their constituents and to make sure that they put the interest of those they were representing ahead of personal comfort.
